Minutes of
NJROTC Booster Club Meeting Minutes
January 11, 2007
Phyllis Roberts opened the meeting that was primarily about the upcoming fundraiser.
Melanie Boudreaux gave Captain a quote from LeBlanc’s Payless for the chicken, beans and salad. Melanie has the Styrofoam plates and packets. Those were donated. Captain will have to purchase bread, wax paper and pans. Melanie will check with her contacts about Little Debbie snack cakes for the plate lunches. The burner and smoker will be donated by PCS Nitrogen and can be picked up on Thursday at gate C1 (construction gate) off of River Road. The person picking it up will need a two-inch ball and Melanie will need to give their name so that they can get in the plant. The only request that was made by PCS is that the pit and smoker be cleaned at a car wash without any soap. Roland Robert will cook the chicken for the fundraiser that will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007. Jeff Boudreaux said he would help as well. It was decided that even though we do not have an exact count on lunches sold, we would purchase 500 pieces of chicken and anything left over would be frozen and used for future events.
Captain and Top also decided that if we made $1,000.00 or more, $1,000.00 would go to the Pensacola trip expenses to help keep cadets cost down.
Adam Hannah had a few items to discuss.
1. The military ball will be held on April 21st or April 28th depending on the Commons Area availability. Danielle Villar will be in charge and will form a committee. Any cadet interested in joining needs to see Villar.
2. Cadet Delatte is in charge of a slideshow/video for the military ball. Anyone having pictures they wish to contribute, need to see Top or Delatte. Top wants to be involved in this.
3. The NJROTC visits a nursing/retirement home every year as part of their community service. They did not have the opportunity to visit at Christmas like usual, so a date needs to be chosen. Delatte is in charge of this as well.
4. There is a possibility that the ROTC will be moving into a different building. The cadets will be in charge of painting the building. If there is anyone who has contacts that can get some paint and supplies donated, that would be appreciated.
The St. Amant competition is on January 27, 2007. We need volunteers to work concessions. Captain and Top will get a list of cadets that can help as well. A few teachers from St. Amant will help with the scoring.
We need to pick a date of the spaghetti dinner. At the next meeting we should have some dates to pick from.
Next meeting will be held on February 15, 2007.
