Minutes of
NJROTC Booster Club Meeting Minutes
November 16, 2006
Phyllis Roberts was unable to attend so Melissa Ficklin, Marie Parker conducted the meeting.
Old business
The Target grant money has been applied for.
The Pearl, MS meet for February 17th has been cancelled.
We need to place 1st, 2nd
or 3rd at the Southern Meet to go to Nationals. This year they are
allowing
individual teams that place to go. For example, if the PT teams place 1st,
2nd or 3rd and none of the other teams places,
just the PT Team would go to Nationals.
Our next meet is December 2nd at LW Higgins. The teams are limited so a combined PT team will go.
The Christmas meal will be on December 19th.
The Fundraiser is on January 19th
and Mrs. Boudreaux tells us she has 500 plates and packs donated.
Roland Robert’s dad has volunteered to cook. We need to decide on tickets. Cap
says we should be able to
make our own. We need to look into getting some of the food donated.
The STA Drill Meet Competition is on January 27th. Capt asked Marie to make list of concession items we need.
Capt introduced us to a petition he is
working on. Currently a graduating senior could have a diploma endorsement
of standard, academic and technical. Right now NJROTC does not get an
endorsement, but Cap is working to get
that changed. He is in the process of petitioning the Board of Education.
Anyone interested in learning more should
visit the NJROTC wed site and click on diploma endorsement information.
Cap wants us to think about a video yearbook
to sell. Everyone could contribute pictures from the various meets and
events and at the end of the year we could sell the CD’s. Anyone that can help
with this, please let us know.
Nick Breaux’s step mom attended the meeting
this week. Nick’s dad works at Shaw. He said that if we come up with a
fundraiser proposal, he may be able to get Shaw to donate to the NJROTC. He can
also get a tent to use at competitions
when needed if he is given enough time to reserve one. Cap will get the price
of the trophies for our competition and see if
Shaw will donate the money for them.
Next meeting date is December 14, 2006.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45.
