Gators take Fourth Place Overall

The St Amant Gator NJROTC Cadet Corps traveled to Ponchatoula High School for the first full Drill Meet of the Year.  Coming off of an exceptionally strong Physical Fitness performance last week at Covington, where the Gators placed first overall, they again had a strong performance.  The Male Physical Fitness Team earned first place honors with Jermie Joseph (junior) and Adam Hanna (junior) leading the way.  Jermie finished first among over 140 male cadets from 19 Louisiana schools.  Adam Hanna finished second, close behind his teammate.  Jermie and Adam both executed 30 clean Pull-ups.  Their achievement in the Pull-ups competition was the strongest finish by any males in over 6 years.  The Gator male Physical Fitness Team has dominated this competition for four of the last five years.  The Gators were unable to fit the Ponchatoula meet into their schedule last year when the meet date was changed,  due to Hurricane Katrina.

The Female Physical Fitness Team also performed well under team captain Danielle Villar (junior).  The lady Gators also took first place with Carissa Jarvis placing first among over 50 female cadets from 10 Louisiana schools.

The Unarmed Exhibition Drill Team placed second in their competition under the direction of Team Commander Carissa Jarvis (sophomore).
